The Argyll collection together in Inveraray, Fly tipping disgrace and Wednesday Sport round-up

The Argyll Collection has been brought together for the first time by The Creative Arts in Scotland Team, who, with permission from His Grace the Duke of Argyll, are currently exhibiting the collection in stunning surroundings at his residence Inveraray Castle. This will be the first time that this prestigious collection will be available to members of the public to view and URTV received a special invitation to view the collection at the official opening.

And the collection will be on display until the 31st of May, Argyll & Bute School Children get free entry and otherwise normal admission charges apply.
Now, the illegal dumping of rubbish is threatening to spoil a local beauty spot. The recent good weather is being blamed for encouraging fly-tippers to use Carman Road, which links Renton and Cardross, as a garbage dump. Local animal welfare campaigner John Robbins, who runs Animal Concern and Helpline, is calling for people to report illegal dumpers over fears their selfish actions could endanger wildlife and farm livestock. Anybody caught fly-tipping risk a fifty pound fixed penalty or, in some instances, a criminal prosecution resulting in a fine of up to forty thousand pounds.
The visitor season at Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park has officially started in earnest. A sunny start to Spring has seen a surge of people using Loch Lomond and, according to National Park Rangers, there were more than seven hundred boats launched from the Duncan Mills Memorial Slipway at Balloch in just four weeks. However, rangers carrying out daily patrols of the loch have also found themselves dealing with an increase in emergencies. In the same period rangers had to deal with 31, incidents including rescuing people in difficulty in the water and several boat capsizes.
And the weather today rain with sunny spells and a high of 12 degrees celsius, and tomorrow its rain with sunny spells again and a high of 13. Thats all for today, and here is Nicki with an update on the sports around the district.
