Wednesday the 17th august.

Argyll and Bute Council has reached an agreement with Luss Estates Company over the ownership of Helensburgh’s pier head site.
The agreement will allow the council to develop the area for retail, housing and leisure, including a proposed new recreation centre and swimming pool.
Sandy Mactaggart, the Council’s Executive Director of Development and Infrastructure Services said the pier head was an important strategic site for improving the town.
It is hoped that the settlement between the council and Luss Estates will be seen as a “green light” for regeneration and a preferred developer could be announced as early as next summer.
If you have any opinions on the pier site or any other matters concerning the town you may be interested to know that tomorrow (Thurs) is the deadline for applications to join Helensburgh Community Council. Members are chosen to represent the views of the local residents to Argyll and Bute Council and other organisations on the big issues of the day. We went to ask current member Darrel Hendrie what the job involves.

Now, The royal wedding attracted millions of viewers, and many are now flocking to the special wedding display at Buckingham Palace to view THAT dress even though the £17.50 tickets to the display are like gold dust. However, there is now a chance closer to home to view the most famous dress design in the world.
The Pink Gallery in Sinclair Street has it’s own carbon copy of the famous Kate Middleton wedding dress which they recently showcased at the The Loch Lomond wedding fair. We went along to have a look.

Well what a great opportunity to have such an amazing piece of history at your wedding.

And now for the weather.
Today is cloudy with a high of 15 degrees. And tomorrow cloudy again with a high of 16. If you’re planning on heading into Glasgow tomorrow it’s 18 degrees and sunny. which is great for the Brad Pitt film “World War Z” which a little birdie told me will be filming around George square and the city chambers.

Thats it from us see you again tomorrow.
